Good questions
FAQs about lessons
A few practical answers before your first visit. If you cannot find what you need, send us a note and we will be happy to help.
How much do lessons cost?
A 30-minute weekly lesson costs £22.50. A trial lesson is also £22.50. If you would prefer 60 minutes, mention it when you enquire and we can talk through the available timetable.
How long is a lesson?
Most students choose 30 minutes each week. One-hour lessons are available where the student would benefit from more time or has a particular goal to work towards.
Do I need to own an instrument?
Not for your first lesson. The teaching room has a digital piano and a drum kit, and we can get you started on guitar or bass. We can also offer practical advice before you buy your first instrument.
Are online lessons available?
Yes. Lessons can be face-to-face at Tudor Row or online, depending on the instrument, your setup and the time you would like.
What ages do you teach?
We welcome children, teenagers, complete beginners, returning adult players and anyone who wants a friendly place to improve. Tell us the age and experience of the student when you enquire.
Can I learn songs I actually like?
Absolutely. Lessons use good technique and musical foundations, but we connect them to songs, styles and goals that keep you interested.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Please give as much notice as possible if you cannot make a lesson. We will explain the current cancellation and rearrangement options when confirming your timetable.
Where can I park near Tudor Row?
Derosa is in the pedestrian-friendly centre of Lichfield. There are town-centre car parks within a short walk; allow a few minutes to walk to Tudor Row for your lesson.
How do I book a trial lesson?
Use the enquiry form on our contact page with the student details, instrument, preferred format and a few possible times. We will reply to confirm a suitable slot.
